It was a Thursday, in fact it was Thursday April the 30th, 1981 when Tullio Regge spoke to thousands of Turinese about the amazing journey called "Life in the Universe". We were already working with him at GiovedìScienza. The following year Regge prepared a l Snakes and Ladders game called "From Quarks to the Big Bang" for Radio Flash, which he did because in his words "science is always a game, the game of how the world works".
In 1985 he became the president of the Villa Gualino Experimenta Science Committee, the first interactive science exhibition in Italy. He chaired the GiovedìScienza Scientific Committee from 1987 leading and teaching us, becoming the driving force behind our ideas.
“Experimenta 1985 – in preparation: Tullio Regge with a third order scratched surface and instructed the builder Mimmo Tasco to build it and to a monumental size."
The popularisation of science owes a lot to Tullio Regge, as Piero Angela and Piergiorgio Odifreddi will bear witness commenting old film clips. Mario Rasetti and Riccardo Zecchina will discuss Tullio Regge’s contribution to theoretical physics, from high energy particles to discrete gravity, from black holes to quantum physics of the matter
